The SDNP used to be a long-standing “nationalist” party in SimDem, advocating for things such as expansion to other platforms, but also arguing that SimDem’s origin - the Subreddit - shouldn’t be undervalued and should be more utilized. This second policy point was profoundly demonstrated by 130th President iaccp (SDNP), who decided to leave the discord server through his term, and only engage with the community via r/SimDemocracy.

In the first Senatorial election following the danyowave - a major event in SimDem history in which more than 1000 users joined the server, roughly quadrupling the server’s population - the SDNP fielded Augustine as its candidate. He did not win though, instead achieving only seventh place, despite the successful participation of then-Party Leader Strix in the “Senatorial Debate” before the election.

In March, it managed to win its first post-Danyo election, namely the 136th Senatorial Election, with Tie entering the chamber as a representative of the SDNP. The party continued to achieve moderate electoral success in the following few months, with prominent members such as NotLukaDebil becoming Senators and the party consistently achieving midfield results in Presidential Elections, fielding candidates such as (new) Party Leader El Kaibu, and recently providing a Vice Presidential candidate to Independent Strix who campaigned to become President, one of the party’s co-founders who decided to leave the party later on.

This actually was one of the main reasons El Kaibu decided to disband the party: Strix, NotLukaDebil, Tie, and Zanko - the party’s most popular politicians - having all decided to leave the party and join another or to become independents. Another reason probably was the party’s recent low electoral success, not being able to get any of their candidates into the Senate for six whole terms. Taking all this into consideration, El Kaibu only did the most reasonable thing: To disband the party.
