On the 4th of July, then-Vice President Tie announced that he would be resigning from his post and leaving SimDemocracy in #general-announcements. As a reason he cited being tired of SimDemocracy politics; he recommended Muggy, the current Speaker of the Senate, as his replacement as Vice President.

Two days later, on the 6th of July, he rejoined the discord server to announce the formation of his new party: The Retirement Party (ReTIErement party, get it? wdym it's not funny?). This new party is not a typical SimDem political party, as it bars any of its members from running for office under its banner. He wants the party to “be for people who want to experience the SimDem community, but avoid all the stupid dramatic political crap”.
Further elaborating, he says he wants to remain on SimDem, but no longer engage with all the things that he doesn’t enjoy about it, like for example the political drama. The particular political drama he's talking about here presumably is the controversy around the SDIOA report on the operations on the NCIA.
In this sense, he also went on to request a one-week-long Self-Exclusion-Order on the same day, to take a break from SimDem.
At the Miasma Post, we (it’s really just me) obviously encourage prioritizing one’s own mental health over SimDem politics, and wish Tie good luck with whatever he’s planning on doing in the future.
