LoS puts Senator Notcom
on watchlist for raiding

On this morning of the 28th of June, the League of Servers announced that Notcom (@notcommunist366), an elected Senator of SimDemocracy, would be added to their “INSERPOL WATCHLIST”.

The reason for this is the apparent coup d'état in Mardonia, another polsim, conducted by Notcom and several other SimDem members. She used her permissions as (elected) President of the republic to delete several important channels, grant her co-conspirators admin rights, and ban multiple political opponents. What the Mardonian people thought when electing her truly is beyond my understanding.

President hmquestionable has already issued a statement on the matter:

“I do not condone our citizens attacking other servers. Please don't do this. Thank you.”

Despite this, he also conceded that Notcom couldn’t be tried for this in SimDem, as the SimDem judiciary didn’t possess jurisdiction over crimes committed outside of its official territories.

For context, the following is a direct quote from the relevant section in the criminal code:

§1. A person may only be prosecuted for crimes committed in r/SimDemocracy and its associated Discord server.
§1.1. This section does not apply if a person acts on behalf of SimDemocracy and is an elected official, or legally represents SimDemocracy.
§2. A person may be prosecuted for crimes committed in direct messages with another person, if both are citizens of SimDemocracy.

The whole incident has led some members of the League of Serves to believe that the state of SimDemocracy was directly responsible for the coup, or that the state was “protecting” Notcom and turning a blind eye to her crimes, severely harming SimDem’s reputation within the League.

This in turn then, has led many SimDemmers to advocate for a “SimExit” out of the League. A recent poll has suggested that about 75% of active members want SimDem to leave, although this is still just a provisional result.

Furthermore, some people have floated around the idea of impeaching Notcom as Senator for this, to show that the state of SimDemocracy did care about what its members did internationally, but the likelihood of this happening is rather low, due to Notcom’s party (The Liberal Democratic Party) currently holding a majority in the chamber.
